A note from Kirsten Walker:
I am really very pleased to be working with such a great team and wonderful residents at Stowlangtoft Hall and Brandon Park Nursing homes. I have been working as an Adult educator and providing activities for adults in Nursing homes, colleges and hospitals since 1999. I have worked with all ages and many dispositions which is very much to my benefit and privilege. My special passion is in communication and ensuring that we all have a voice that can be heard, be that by spoken work, written word, sign language or pictorial communication aids. I also have a personal passion for history and love to hear peoples stories as they are all so different and inspiring. I believe these memories should be recorded for the benefit of further generations…..Where else can we learn those special lessons?
I am a mother of 2 and step-mother of 3 making a teenage rowdy brood of 5. We also have a naughty puppy and 3 cats (one soon to have kittens, our grand kittens), as a family we love days out and looking after the allotment which provides us with much sustenance throughout the year! We also love visiting historical sites in the area and I love the coast for a paddle…I have to dip my toe even in December! Growing up in London gave me little opportunity to visit the coast or countryside.
I have met some of you and very much look forwarding to meeting you all over time. Hopefully we can give you and your relatives some relaxing, exciting, inspiring and beneficial activities that we can share and enjoy together. Kirsten Walker
