Su Pollard shines her unique light on Horkesley Summer Extravaganza

Horkesley Manor, part of the Stow Healthcare Group, was delighted to welcome beloved entertainer Su Pollard as the guest of honour at its annual summer fete on Saturday.

The event was made all the more special by Su’s personal connection to the home, she is a long-standing friend of Andrew Robley, a professional actor at London’s Brick Lane Theatre and the son of Horkesley Manor resident Pearl Robley. Upon hearing about the upcoming fete, Su generously offered to attend and host the event.

Bringing her trademark warmth, humour and energy, Su officially opened the festivities and spent the afternoon mingling with residents, families, and staff. Her presence helped draw a fantastic crowd and contributed to the home raising an impressive £1,200 on the day, funds that will go towards enriching the lives of residents through meaningful activities and experiences.

Judith Morgan-Worrall, Home Manager at Horkesley Manor, said:
“It was an absolute delight having Su Pollard open the fete and such a lovely surprise for the residents. Su spent time mingling and talking to all, plenty of photographs were taken together and lots of laughter and jollities shared. It truly was a special day for our residents, families, and friends of Horkesley Manor.”

The summer fete featured a variety of stalls, entertainment, games, and refreshments, creating a vibrant atmosphere and a memorable celebration of community spirit.

Horkesley Manor continues to be a cornerstone of high-quality nursing, residential, and dementia care in the region, offering a safe, supportive, and welcoming home for all who live there.
